AucNation Synergy Sdn. Bhd. (AucNation Synergy) is an automotive management solutions provider, powered by Japan’s Automobile Inspection System (AIS) and supported by the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI).
Challenges
According to MAI, in line with the goals of the End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) initiative under the National Automotive Policy 2014, approximately 300 nationwide inspection centres were required to allow their centres to undergo checks and, car owners to send their vehicles for checks to ensure safety.
Although there were a few car inspection service centres nationwide, Vehicle Inspection Management System (VIMS) was the first to receive MAI’s full support as the system (was powered by Japan’s Automobile Inspection System (AIS).
AIS is a top inspection company in Japan for brands such as Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan and Mazda, having inspected over 8 million automobiles!
Initiatives
Instead of conducting the press conference in a cosy room, media members were invited to watch VIMs car inspection service ‘live’ outdoors. It streamed live on Facebook reaching out to both Malaysians and Japanese counterparts.
While the inspector was examining the car, the CEO (with a wireless mic) explained the whole process. Media appreciated the transparency and the hands-on approach. Media also had their cars inspected and certified by VIMS after the event.
To carry on the conversation, VIMS collaborated with select top car bloggers in town. Instead of written reviews, PLC shot ‘video-based reviews’ to allow fellow Malaysians to see for themselves how the A-Z inspection was done!
